Every session begins with listening.
Northbound is a space to slow down, settle in, and receive Reiki in a way that respects your needs and your pace.
Whether you come for yourself or your animal companion, each session is held with intention, consent, and gentle attention. You do not need to know exactly what to expect. We can begin with a conversation and let the session unfold from there.

Reiki for pets
Gentle sessions guided by your animal’s comfort and cues. We can meet in a familiar home setting or outdoors when suitable, with their caregiver present.

Distance Reiki
Receive Reiki wherever you are. We agree on a time and intention beforehand, then you or your animal can rest in a familiar, comfortable place.
30 minutes · $40 · people or petsMobile visits include a travel fee of $10 for trips up to 15 miles from Athens or $20 for trips 16 to 30 miles away. The fee is confirmed before booking. Please have a calm, quiet space with enough room for a massage table and for me to move around it. Outdoor sessions at the Northbound property and distance sessions have no travel fee.

When conditions allow, sessions can take place outdoors in the quiet of the Athens countryside. There is room to breathe, listen, and feel held by the natural world.
Outdoor appointments depend on weather and comfort. If the day does not feel right for an outside session, we can reschedule or choose another format together.

There is no special way you need to prepare. Your comfort and intention are enough.

We choose a comfortable setting and agree on boundaries. For animals, their caregiver stays present and their cues guide the pace.

Take the time to rest, breathe, or simply be present. Each session closes gently, with room to share anything that came up for you.

Hi, I’m Matthew. Reiki has become an important part of my spiritual path and the way I connect with people, animals, and the healing presence of nature.
As a Reiki Master Teacher, I bring a grounded and intuitive approach to each session. Northbound is my independent Reiki practice, created to offer a calm, respectful space for people and their animal companions.

Can I have Reiki outdoors?
Yes. Outdoor sessions at the Northbound property are available when weather and conditions feel comfortable. If plans need to change, we can reschedule or discuss another format.
How far do mobile sessions travel?
Mobile visits are planned within about 30 miles of Athens, Ohio. Any travel fee is confirmed with you before booking. Please have a calm, quiet space with enough room for a massage table and for me to move around it.
How are sessions with animals handled?
Your animal’s comfort leads the session. Their caregiver remains present, and the session can pause or end whenever the animal needs space.
What happens during distance Reiki?
We agree on a time and intention beforehand. You or your animal can rest in a familiar place while Reiki is offered from a distance.
Does Reiki replace medical or veterinary care?
No. Reiki is a complementary spiritual energy practice. It does not diagnose or replace care from a licensed medical or veterinary professional.
